History - Psyche woke during the Victorian era and spent several years learning about modern culture and mortals. Then when Eros decided to retreat from society (the war years, as she'll call them), Psyche followed him and together they became lost in each other for almost a century. Playing the dutiful wife to the husband she loved more than anything was easy for Psyche. Then the 60's hit and Eros returned to work and Psyche decided to begin working with children.
However, as the years progressed, Eros steadily began to move away from Psyche until one day, he left her completely. His only explanation, "I just love you too much, it's killing me." And then he was gone.
Suddenly on her own for the first time in a thousand years, Psyche found solace in the children she helped recover from abuses. She became something of a workaholic, taking on different faces and names throughout the years to continue her work.
Currently, she is working under the mortal name Vanessa Banafrit in New York as a graduate student working her way to a Ph.D in Child Psychology. Professors have praised her ability to know how to reach even the most diffcult children and she is expected to graduate with honors and a place at the top of her field.
She is still married to Eros and goes by Mrs, even thought they do not share the same last name or even a home. He still visits her on occasion for dinner or a night of extremely passionate sex and they have never fallen out of love. But Psyche is growing restless with the situation and althought she loves her husband, being his "once in awhile girl" grates. And now she's gotten an excellent offer of work in DC, and she just may take it...
